Software & Senior Engineer (Java)

IntaPeople are currently supporting a fast-growing financial services organisation based in Cardiff. Due to continued growth and team size, they now require several experienced Software Engineers and Senior Software Engineers to join their high performing, cross functional team.

As part of the engineering team you will be passionate about your role, take a pragmatic approach to problem solving, deliver quality code to required timelines and be keen to build upon the product. As well as these attributes you will also be able to provide opinions while also being a team player who is willing to invest in the culture here.

Key skills (at a glance)

• 3-7+ years experience as a Software/Senior Engineer  
• Experience developing REST APIs with Java (preferably Java 8+) and Spring Boot
• Knowledge of SQL Databases
• Experience working with modern Continuous Integration tooling such as Jenkins
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing

Key Responsibilities (at a glance)

• Develop software in a professional manner - producing stable applications aligned  to user needs
• Participate in Agile team ceremonies
• Working with the team and Product Owners to support the definition of features and enhancements from a backend perspective
• Delivery of backend aspects of features and enhancements using our tech stack
• Contribution to our automated testing suites to ensure quality

We’re also looking for desirable skills such as (but these are in no means essential):

• Experience developing on the Cloud such as AWS, GCP, Azure
• Experience with Typescript and React, Angular, or other similar Front End frameworks
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience with Docker or other containerization tools

Role overview (at a glance);

• Software Engineer or Senior Software Engineer
• A starting salary of £50,000 - £65,000 depending on experience
• A discretionary performance-based bonus of up to 10%-20%+ per year
