Quality Assurance Engineer - Cardiff
We’re hiring a mid-senior level QA Engineer to join a growing digital engineering team working on modern platforms like .NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, Azure and Power Platform. You’ll work alongside the Lead QA Engineer to help improve test automation, shaping quality processes, and ensuring robust software delivery across both public-facing and internal systems.
Sitting in a small, but fast-paced development team of around 12-15, you’ll work closely with other QA Engineers, Software Developers and stakeholders to:
- Create and run test plans (manual & automated)
- Build and maintain automated test suites using C# and modern frameworks
- Support regression testing and release processes
- Improve test coverage, spot gaps, and promote QA best practice
- Drive quality-first thinking in a collaborative team
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a strong ability to problem solve whilst researching in to the most modern ways of working. You'll have a voice within this team and be empowered to work to the best of your ability within this organisation whilst they invest into AI and Automating tools.
Skills required (at a glance):
- 3+ years experience working as a QA Engineer/Software Tester
- Ideally automation skills in C# (.NET) or other demonstrable skills in other areas such as Java
- JavaScript/TypeScript scripting for testing
- Experience creating structured test documentation
- Confident spotting areas for process improvement
Nice to have:
- Azure DevOps exposure
- CI/CD pipeline awareness
- SQL basics
- Familiarity with version control systems
- Fintech or Financial services experience
