QA Engineer – up to £35,000 + up to 10% bonus and some WFH options
We’re helping to scale a small technical team for a web technology company based in Caerphilly and looking for an enthusiastic QA Engineer who’s keen to learn plenty of new skills and become an integral part of a tight knit team!

What you’ll be doing…
It’s a pretty interesting time to join the company as they are embarking on an ambitious technology refresh programme which will eventually lead to the retirement of their core platforms and incrementally replacement by a new platform that is being built. This is a new role to grow the QA capacity at the company and make sure the existing systems and new development is properly supported.

You’ll form a core part of the Agile team for the new project as well as -
* Create test plans, implement the plans, records results and maintain appropriate records.
* Conduct test runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct.
* Consult within the team to clarify program intent, identify problems and suggest changes.
* Assist with the evolution of testing strategies to ensure the levels of system continually grow
* Investigate and implement test automation solutions in order to streamline the QA cycle

About you…
We’re looking for someone with a couple of years commercial experience in a similar type of QA role with an interest in taking a more pro-active role in defining the QA function and its implementation.
It would be great if you have some Test Automation experience but its not an issue if you don’t – it’s a great chance for you to learn and skill up in this area.

As the systems are PHP based any experience of this would be great, if not then experience of testing multiple, secure, client facing technical web systems would be just as good as well as experience of working with Linux based systems.

About them…
It’s a small team in Caerphilly so we’re looking for someone whos comfortable in a fast moving environment, keen to solve difficult problems and able to work / research independently. There’s no micro-management and the team have a passion for technology so are always keen to learn something new.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone to develop new skills in automation and play a significant part in a new product development.

Still here? Good!
