Systems Development Manager - Hybrid role

IntaPeople are working with a Technology focussed client based in Cardiff who are looking for a Systems Manager to join the team on an initial 12 months fixed term contract. We’re looking for someone who wears “many hats” as the role itself is a bit of a Hybrid position within the organisation. Someone who been involved in digital transformation, release management, project/delivery management and software development management would suit this position.

The role will involve ensuring that optimal delivery of systems and release management are always at the forefront of the businesses needs and you’ll be tasked with planning, delivering and the performance of external teams across the world.

You’ll have experience working within an Agile and Scrum environment and will be responsible for IT deliverables across a globally distributed product. Working with the wider IT/Software team you’ll project manage and support vendor management, whilst being a main point of contact for business stakeholders and IT teams.

We’re looking for a candidate who either comes from a technical background (such software development) or someone who has experience of managing software projects and IT systems.


- Project/Delivery Management / Release Management experience
- Solid knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Solid Experience in Agile/Scrum environments/methodologies
- Excellent communication skills – including stakeholder experience
- Computer Studies related degree or relevant work experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


- Experience and understanding of software management tools
- Agile/Scrum certifications
- Experience in managing globally distributed teams
- Understanding of budgets and finance
- Coding/Software Development experience (although no necessary)
- You will also be accountable for the management of software development by managing, planning, co-ordinating and tracking all IT delivery of projects and work streams within the Software Development Life Cycle whilst co-ordinating with project managers.

Currently the organisation is going through a very large IT change project so this role will cover a number of duties across the change board and product ownership. You’ll also be required to act as a release manager, to manage approved scheduled releases including managing downtime requirements and system / code issues.

Role overview:

- Starting Salary of £45,000 - £50,000 per year (DOE)
- Initial 12months fixed-term appointment
- 37.5 hours per week
- 25 days holidays + Bank Holidays
