Embedded Software Developer – based in central Cardiff
We’re helping scale the technical team for start-up based in central Cardiff and on the lookout for a talented Embedded Software Developer.

Cutting through all the normal advert nonsense, we’re really open to seeing a range of applications from talented self-starters who are looking to make a change. The role is not only taking ownership of a product as one of the early team members joining the company but also growing, learning and building something that will make a difference in people's lives!

What you’ll be doing…
In a nut shell, the prototype has been built out and now we’re looking for someone to take the product and processes to the next viable level, have a voice around the tech / progression of the product and then drive it to market.

There’s lots of collaboration with some really interesting people in both the team as well as 3rd parties. Role wise day to day you will be analysing product requirements, investigating, prototypes and delivering innovative and feasible system solutions for embedded products in collaboration with a multidisciplinary engineering team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the embedded system architecture and development of new features, system integration, unit testing and the development of algorithms for data extraction and processing. You also will be free to run experiments and build prototypes with unique approaches for problems.

About you…
As you’ve probably guessed, being an Embedded Software Developer who has developed for hardware platforms is going to be a big tick in the box.
As it’s a start up being an independent self-starter is helpful as well as experience in an Agile environment but really we’re looking for someone who's not tied to requirements and is always keen to try out new ideas and innovations!

We’re not looking for 100% of this but background wise we’d expect some experience with -
* Embedded systems development in C/C++
* Serial communication protocols: I2C, SPI, and UART
* Writing and integrating drivers for chipset (Power Management, Sensors, etc)
* Quick prototyping using Arduino and Raspberry Pi;
* Wireless communication (RF, BLE, wifi, etc)

Nice to Haves include things like LTE modules, Microcontrollers, Zigbee and/or BLE.

Still here? Good!
Benefits wise includes equity and flexible working as well as a range of other perks - For more details please apply for an initial call back regarding the role / your experience or call Jon on 02920 252500 for a confidential chat and more information on the role.
