If you like coding in Java and getting caught in the rain,
If you're not adverse to OOP and you want to further train,
If you like coding up until midnight, rather than backing up your vhs tape,
I'm the advert that you've looked for, write to me and escape

Now that song is stuck in your head lets talk about what we’re actually looking for …
At the moment we’re helping a cutting edge FS company scale their engineering team and looking for a number of Java Developers from mid – senior level to join the team.
The company is growing rapidly and team fit is key here; we're not just after people who like fun songs but people who are eager to learn new skills and enjoy developing with the latest technologies as well as trying something different!

The company is growing fast and leading the field in the fintech sector... Agile is their middle name and they’re keen to find someone interested in pushing innovation in the digital banking world. Ultimately, we’re looking for good developers keen to learn and progress, ideally, we’re looking for people with -
* Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade Java applications
* Experience of SQL and working with relational databases
* Integration with web-services and APIs experience

Other than that if you’re missing one of the things we’re after we’d still recommend getting in touch for a chat as long as you’re keen to learn – other areas in the tech stack include -
* Spring Framework (including Core, Data, Integration, Web, Security, Batch)
* Messaging frameworks and integration patterns (JMS, ActiveMQ, Camel)
* Restful APIs (REST)
* Persistence frameworks such as Hibernate, JPA
* Application servers such as Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic or JBoss

Theres also plus points for experience with Scrum and Agile practices as well as BDD or TDD experience; writing unit and integration tests with JUnit or similar.

The successful candidate will be designing and developing applications in a team of highly skilled software developers, QA engineers, scrum masters and product owners. The working environment is very dynamic, requiring constant updating of knowledge; other requirements include -
* Design and develop components, services and web applications that deliver value customers.
* Work closely with the product owner, other developers and QA engineers to shape the product, proactively gather requirements and ensure software is high quality.
* Ensure solutions are tested, extensible, maintainable, secure and perform well.
* Work with your team and other developers across the company to continuously improve the approach to development.

For more details on the company please apply for an initial call back regarding the role / your experience or call Jonathan Edwards on 02920 252500 for a confidential chat and more information on the role.
