ICT Operations Manager

IntaPeople are urgently seeking a versatile Operations Manager for a technically hands-off position with a leading Fintech company.

You will be responsible for the day to day management of a team of 4 which includes an Infrastructure Manager and Applications Manager who each have one other report as well as managing outsourced suppliers for certain IT functions.

You will most likely have moved on from the pure hands-on stage of your career and are now more specifically responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting on the performance and delivery of your infrastructure and application teams. You will act as the Deputy to the ICT Director, contributing to the development and delivery of the overall ICT Strategy.

Developing effective relationships with staff and suppliers will be essential for success in the role, as will the ability to ensure ongoing adherence to governance, project management and quality standards. Being a skilled report writer with very good language/writing skills will be a big plus in this role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

You will manage a team of technical staff, have ownership of the production of management information to report on departmental performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs, Identify, manage, mitigate and report on risks associated with the use of ICT services throughout the business and ensure documentation and licensing compliance of the ICT service portfolio is maintained.

You should be a natural problem solver and will collaborate with the team and wider business to agree on the design and implementation of a holistic programme of ICT continual improvement activities.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience

We are seeking a proven leader/manager of multi-disciplined ICT teams with experience of managing internal and outsourced ICT services in a senior management position. You will need excellent interpersonal verbal communication and influencing skills, a very high standard of written communication skills for a variety of audiences and a solid understanding of ITIL Service Management and project management frameworks, with corresponding accredited qualifications.

A proven ability to deliver complex ICT projects to time and cost and accredited Project Management qualifications would be good to have as would any experience of designing, procuring and managing outsourced ICT service contracts. The organisation is currently going through a Digital Transformation Programme so any understanding around this process would also stand you in good stead.
