Infrastructure Project Manager - Cardiff
£350 per day

Extremely urgent role - Must be able to start by the 3rd of April at the latest for a hand over.

Initial contract to run until the end of 2018

Key words – Project Manager, Prince 2, Infrastructure, Stakeholder Management, Server Upgrades. Multiple Project Management, Good organisation skills.

We are urgently seeking a versatile and flexible Prince II Qualified Infrastructure focussed PM who can commit to a full-time contract in Cardiff until the end of 2018. I'm afraid the rate is £300-350 and we haven't got any movement on this range so this would ideally suit someone who is fairly locally based and living within a commutable distance.

You'll be part of a team of 4 PM's who are currently sharing and cherry-picking teams to deliver around 18 different infrastructure upgrade and refresh projects scheduled to run throughout the rest of the year.

Any financial services experience would be a real nice to have but we're essentially looking for a solid and confident Project Manager who can help manage a wide range of stakeholders and teams through a varied range of infrastructure based projects. Experience within Windows / Linux and Oracle environments would be particularly handy mix.

You'll be working for a really impressive financial client with a great location and working environment so please don't delay in applying if it might be something you could consider until the end of the year (this is particularly urgent so we really need people who can interview and start within a week or so) - Start date is likely to be the 3rd of April at the very latest (the sooner the better if you can manage it!)

Further Role details:

You will be co-ordinating Infrastructure teams and Application Development teams (as well as 3rd party resources) to help orchestrate a series of customer facing and back-office suites supporting various locations of the business.

The main components (servers, databases, software packages, printing sub-systems are running on significantly back-level versions which may make the upgrade more complex.

You will have a high degree of interaction infrastructure teams in Cardiff, covering servers and storage, databases, web management, client systems and networking, This includes a 3rd party outsource partner for the Microsoft elements.

If you are a Prince II qualified PM with good Excel skills, the capability to provide solution change requests (including budgets for work, impact assessments and scoping statements), be able to manage risks and minimise their impacts..then wow, I'd really love to hear from you!

We feel this role should be commutable from Cardiff, Newport, Bristol, Cwmbran, Rhondda, Merthyr, Barry, Bridgend, Port Talbot and Swansea.
