One of the fastest growing companies in Europe is looking for an ASIC Design Engineer to join their growing ASIC Design Team in Cheadle. As a member of this dynamic and highly motivated team you will have access to best in class EDA design tools and will be working on leading edge process technologies. You will be involved in the:

• RTL design of complex SoC, VLSI Satellite Modem ICs down to block level
• Integration of 3rd party IP (IO, CPUs, DSPs, Memory Controllers, etc)
• Involvement across the entire design life cycle from requirements capture and architectural design through block level design, simulation and synthesis to handover to the Design Verification and Physical Design teams

Required Skills and Experience
• Creating large, complex designs in leading edge ASIC or FPGA technologies
• Fluency in Verilog, System Verilog or VHDL
• Driving complex EDA design tools from Cadence, Mentor or Synopsys
• End to end experience of the design lifecycle through Definition, Simulation, Synthesis, Timing Analysis and Debug
• A high level of self-motivation, flexibility and commitment to meet project milestones
• Technical communication with related design teams, 3rd party IP and library providers

Desirable Skills and Experience
• Deep sub-micron (28nm or below) ASIC/SoC process technologies
• FPGA technologies (Xilinx Virtex/Kintex/ZYNQ Ultrascale or Intel Stratix/Agilex) and associated tools (i.e. Vivado, Quartus)
• On chip interface/NoC protocols: AXI, AHB, APB, OCP, etc
• Off chip networking protocols: PCIe, Ethernet, etc
• On chip CPU and DSP cores: ARM, MIPS, CEVA, etc
• High speed memory interfaces: DDR, etc
• Implementing and verifying designs incorporating multiple clock domains
• Directing the Physical Design team with floor-planning and physical partitioning of the design
• Integrating 3rd party IP to create complex SOCs
• Developing ASIC prototyping systems using FPGAs
• Hardware/Software integration, bring up, debug and test
• Practical use of scripting languages Tcl/Python/Perl etc
