Electronic Hardware Technician

An experienced Electronic Hardware Technician is required for one of the fastest growing and innovative companies in Europe. Working within the Hardware Design team you will:

• Support the hardware design team (and occasionally other departments) by providing technician support
• Repair, rework and small volume assembly of electronic circuit boards
• Assembly and repair of custom cable and connector solutions
• Building prototype products, including assembly of mechanical components
• Evaluation and testing of components and prototype circuit boards
• Preparing and packing items for shipment
• Maintain test laboratory infrastructure, including power and signal cabling, IT equipment and test equipment
• Manage the laboratory stock, including inventory control and component purchasing
• Manage test equipment calibration

Skills and Experience

• Excellent soldering skills, to include cable/connectors, through-hole components and SMD components down to 0402 and fine-pitch QFP
• Good understanding of ESD mitigation measures
• Basic IT set-up and configuration
• Good understanding of various electronic components
• Basic understanding of electronic circuits
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

• 2+ years’ experience in electronics manufacturing or repair
• Trained to IPC standards in electronic assembly and rework
• Experience in electronic product testing
• IT server set-up experience
• Experience of using CAD software for mechanical or electronic design
• Installing and upgrading software on PCs and other electronic systems
