Threat Intelligence Analyst

About the company…
Traditionally not known for their technical capabilities our client are completing multiple transformations. The technical teams keep the company at the forefront of technology and as the company scales in projects and size, they have an exciting IT department that are constantly thinking of new ways to improve their functions.

Within the security team, they are creating a secure and robust environment where they can protect their internal and external users. The threat intelligence team sit within their SOC environment; working collaboratively with IR, SIEM and Penetration Testing teams to be proactive towards potential threats. The threat intelligence team scope internal and external sources and provide information to technical teams to be able to create innovative solutions to mitigate against potential future threats.

About you…
You will have a good background within cyber security but be more focussed on finding the threats rather than creating the security controls to keep them at bay. You’ll have an analytical mindset, where you enjoy researching on new threats coming into the industry, assessing potential threat actors and the harm they could do within the business.

You have a proactive mindset, wanting to create solutions to stop issues before they become a serious problem for the organisation. You’ll know your way around the dark web / TOR network and be able to identify patterns exposing new cyber security issues and be able to report these back to technical teams for them to implement the controls to secure these problems.

What you’ll be doing…
You’ll be taking information from multiple sources, analysing the finer details and advising technical security teams on their capabilities and functionalities; allowing them to defend against them within the wider infrastructure. You will assess the current architecture, identify the likely attack paths the organisation could be breached and help provide security solutions to mitigate against them. You will manage a wide range of intelligence sources and be a key member of the team building the threat detection capabilities within the company.

What we’re ideally looking for…
* Ability to engage across all levels of the business; from stakeholder advise through to technical recommendations with analyst / engineers.
* Ideally experience with threat intelligence, ability to assess the emerging threat landscape and provide detailed reports back to the business.
* A good technical understanding of the principles of Cyber Security, Cyber Threats and Cyber Risk.
* Experience with research tools and intelligence collection software.

In an ideal world, you’ll also have a technical ability within cyber security; being able to complete Penetration Tests, having a good understanding of development / coding however this is not essential.
