Data Protection Consultant

Still looking for that ideal role where you can utilise your data protection experience on a daily basis across multiple environments? Our client, based in Central London, are data centric; providing advice, consultancy and solutions across information security, governance, risk, compliance and data frameworks.

Working in a collaborative team of cyber security professionals they provide expert advice and are looking for a Data Protection Consultant, to work across multiple projects and clients, leading privacy projects in line with DPA and GDPR.

What are we looking for and what will you do…
Someone who is consistently focussed around data, knows the best practices to secure it, is constantly up-to-date with changes to compliance frameworks and who is comfortable relaying their knowledge to clients with different strategies / needs.

Ideally you’ll have worked within a professional services / consulting environment previously, have strong communication skills and be able to engage successfully with everyone from senior C-Level stakeholders, through to technical staff completing implementations.

Within the role you will manage large scale projects, lead a team of data protection professionals, help clients ensure their data is protected as possible and keen policies in line with new legislation. You will advise across privacy and data protection compliance issues and provide solutions for data breach handling, privacy impact assessments, policies, user awareness and audits.

The experience we need…
• A good level of experience within a data protection or privacy focussed role. Working with multiple cyber security standards on a global level.
• Experience co-ordinating with the ICO and other supervisory authorities.
• Proven experience within governance, risk, compliance and data protection.
• Ability to lead projects throughout the lifecycle; scoping requirements, providing solutions and implementing new policies / procedures.
• Certified in privacy and data protection (BCS Practitioner, CIPP/E, GDPR etc) and ideally holding other relevant cyber security certifications (CISSP, CISM, ISO27001 etc)

Our client like candidates who have always been focussed on data protection; whether it’s a degree within a data protection / privacy field or multiple courses and events focussed around the topic.

As this is a consultancy position, there will be travel required to various client sites in order to complete projects efficiently. This will be mainly UK based but the opportunity may arise for International travel.
