SOC Analyst - Cardiff
Permanent role - £25-40k depending on experience & benefits
Fantastic company to work with based in a good location

We are working exclusively with a rapidly expanding company who are urgently seeking a Security Analyst to join, and become an integral part, of their new SOC team. You'll be helping to mitigate against threats, vulnerabilities and potential breaches for their clients. As well as being part of a growing SOC, the role will also involve several Greenfield projects based around security.

There’s no fixed technology stack, it would be ideal if you have used Splunk in the past but you may prefer AlienVault; as long as you have that technical mindset with a passion to learn new technologies that’s great. Everything is transferrable but you will need to have an analytical mind, a desire to work hard, keen to learn new technology and easily adaptable to varying situations you may face.

The ideal experience mix would include a mix of the following:
• A good level of experience with all operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX etc).
• Networking experience; switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, TCP/IP, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto.
• An interest in threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, threat hunting and intelligence feeds.
• Experience with SIEM solutions; LogRhythm, Splunk, AlienVault, QRadar – as long as you know how SIEM solutions operate and their functionality that's fine.
• Ideally the successful candidate will also be eligible for Security Clearance (the company will put you through this gradually themselves)
• If you also happen to have some security certificates such as (CISA, CompTIA+, CCNA etc) that would be an extra bonus (but not essential).

In order to apply for this position please email a copy of your most recent CV for a discrete call back regarding the role.

We feel this role should be commutable from Cardiff, Newport, Bristol, Cwmbran, Rhondda, Merthyr, Barry, Bridgend, Port Talbot and Swansea.
