“What’s that coming into the SIEM? Is it a Ransomware? Is it a Ransomwaaaaare?”

It’s hard to imagine that 12 years’ ago The Automatic released their only remembered chart topper; it’s also hard to believe that before 2006, despite concrete evidence of Ransomware, it was not common knowledge within the wider society that these creepy crawly strains had the ability to encrypt computers and infrastructures easily. Nowadays, there’s constant news bulletins about Ransomware and we are looking for the next Engineer to combat these threats.

IntaPeople are helping to find a Security Engineer to join a newly built team; to improve the processes for the SIEM solution and the SOC through incident response, security intelligence and threat hunting. All we ideally want is someone with a passion for security, to develop themselves further and to help be the defenders of the whole company infrastructure. You might have used different SIEM solutions, different threat hunting tools; to us that’s not an issue and our client will help you to train up into their tools and procedures.

As always, there’s some key skills and experience we are looking for;
* Security knowledge, passion and desire – this is one of the key things we want as there might be a different role within the company that might be better suited for you.
* Experience performing technical analysis with event data.
* Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS etc).
* Knowledge of InfoSec protocols (IDS, IPS, Firewalls, AV, Authentication etc).
* Ability to identify vulnerabilities and to access restricted information.
* Experience with scripting languages, potentially in a DevOps / Sys Admin style.
* Ability to develop, configure and support a SIEM platform.

In order to gain some brownie points it would be great if you had experience with Splunk (can you guess which SIEM solution they use!), AWS, GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, Python, Java and any security focussed certifications you may think of (SSCP, GSEC, GCIH, GCIA).

If the above sounds like a good fit for you then get in touch, if you are missing a few bits and pieces then get in touch as well. As mentioned, we want candidates with passion and who are keen to further develop.
