Penetration Tester

  • Reference IP27992-JS
  • Salary £50,000 - £60,000
  • Location LONDON
  • Job type Permanent

On a nice summer’s evening you see a shining light coming out of a huge warehouse. On further inspection you notice the shining light is the reflection of mountains of treasure tucked into the warehouse and there’s a very small gap that you might be big enough to squeeze. What’s your next move;
* Do you walk on and think it’s none of my concern?
* Do you head straight into the warehouse, filling your pockets with diamonds galore?
* Or do you figure out how to get in, then find out who owns it and tell them how to make the whole warehouse more secure without taking a single gem?

For anyone who said option 3, congratulations on doing the right thing and also being ethical at the same time. This, with a non-technical mindset, is the best way to describe Penetration Testing and IntaPeople are currently helping a consultancy in London to find one! You will be acting as a consultant to clients; completing vulnerability assessments, testing, analysis and documenting everything to give them the guidance that they need.

Within the role you will be identifying, exploiting and documenting security flaws through attack simulations, work on multiple projects with multiple clients, look at network applications, wireless infrastructures, code reviews and also complete social engineering attacks on companies. Sounds fun doesn’t it? You could be the Kevin Mitnick (other hackers are available) of the company!

Our ideal candidate will have experience with all of the below and be able to demonstrate these skills;
* You know security inside and out; from patches to accreditation. You basically live and breathe it on a daily basis!
* Working knowledge of multiple network processes (TCP/IP, HTML etc) and of programming languages (Python, Perl, Java, C++, C#). As long as you are good at what you do you can use any language you want!
* Experience with cracking tools. By that we don’t mean great tools, we want encryption and password cracking tools.
* Experience with testing tools; WebScarab, Burpsuite, Nessus, Appscan etc.
* Certification with GIAC, CEH, CISSP, CCSE, CISM, CISA, Crest, OSCP; basically a nice little piece of paper to prove you live and breathe security!

If you have all of above then we want to hear from you. If you have some and not others, no problem at all, just apply and one of our consultants will get in touch to see if any other opportunities might be better suited.
