Linux NOC Engineer

  • Reference IP27661-JS
  • Salary £35,000 - £45,000
  • Location London
  • Job type Permanent

Linux, Linux, Linux – that’s the environment, the technology and the core of our clients’ infrastructure. If you love Linux, have a desire to develop yourself further and work in an innovative company then please apply for this role.
IntaPeople are helping a company based in Central London to go through the next phase of their growth. Year on year they have further established themselves within the market and 2018 is the year they plan to do more yet again.

We are helping them to find Linux fanatics, with a good networking background to work within their NOC department. Within this position you will maintain the infrastructure, automate the technology as much as possible and support all of the other departments. You will be the first line of defence for the organisation; responding to network incidents, protecting security vulnerabilities and maintaining all of their network devices.

The role is working within a NOC environment so shift patterns are required within the 24/7 environment; the pattern will be 12 hour shifts, 4 days on and 4 days off.

The main skills we are looking for are all based around Linux and Networking;
 Linux: RedHat, Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu or any other flavour you can think of, all we care about is that you know your way around Linux.
 Linking into Linux, if you know about automation tools (SaltStack, Puppet, Ansible etc), monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Solarwinds etc) and Scripting (Bash, Python, Perl or PHP) then that’s also a win.
 Networking: You don’t have to be networking focussed but if you can setup, configure, monitor and support switches, routers and firewalls that’s a winner in our book!

As well as the above the role will allow you to work with IDS/IPS, Virtualisation tools, cloud technologies, microservice architecture, SNMP, Load Balancers, SSH certificates, IPTables. If you’ve already worked with them great, if not this is the type of technology you can develop your skills with.

In order to apply for the role please forward an up-to-date CV and our team will get in touch with you.
