Job title: Risk Manager Locations: Cardiff Salary: circa £50K Overview: Working directly with the Head of Risk to identify, assess, and remediate potential risks to the business. To provide leadership and direction to the Risk Management Team, to assist the Head of Risk and Group Risk & Compliance Director in promoting a Group-wide compliant culture in accordance with the risk appetite of the Group. The Role:
• Assist in the identification of loss events and emerging risks. • Undertake risk assessments, which involve analysing risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the business. • Assist the Head of Risk in formulating the Group Risk, creating and maintaining a Risk Framework and supporting procedures, and ensure their adherence across the group. • Act as the main operational/ day-to day liaison point in relation to the risk management framework. • Act as the Company’s Risk SME, providing input at forums and meetings in relation to risk and assurance matters. • Establish visibility, credibility & strong working relationships across the business to help embed and promote a compliance and risk culture across the business. • Manage the risk relationship with clients on a regular basis in accordance with agreed SLA’s. The Person • Understanding of regulatory requirements and related best practice in Financial Services • Good knowledge and understanding of corporate governance requirements and standards applicable to the company and its clients • Demonstrable experience in an audit, analytical or technical background
• Ability to Communicate and influence at senior level • Attention to detail with ability to interpret complex information • Negotiating and influencing skills • Ability to develop & write detailed processes and procedures
