Google lifts lid on live search improvements - 02/09/2010

Google has released details of a number of “significant” updates to its real-time search service, which was launched in December last year.

Among the latest improvements is a dedicated homepage for live search, the ability to filter real-time search results by location, as well as a new ‘conversation view'.

The service, which is available at http://www.google.co.uk/realtime, was created to provide users with real-time content from a wide range of sources.

Dylan Casey, Product Manager at Google, commented:

“On the new homepage you’ll find some great tools to help you refine and understand your results. First, you can use geographic refinements to find updates and news near you, or in a region you specify.

“So if you’re travelling to Los Angeles this summer, you can check out tweets from Angelenos to get ideas for activities happening right where you are.”
