Network/Linux Systems Administrator (Graduate Entry Level) – Berkshire – £30K
I am looking for a Network/Linux Systems Administrator to work for an expanding client who is the world leader in designing and developing the most technologically advanced equipment in their specific domain.
Due to the increasing demands for their products and systems, the client requires a new Systems Administrator. Within this role, you will be supporting an extremely technical R&D function and connection to their overseas offices.
Main duties and responsibilities:
• Network support
• Liaison with suppliers
• Maintenance of corporate servers
• Maintenance of development servers
• Configuration of video infrastructure and end points
• Configuration and support of user PC systems including security maintenance and VPN connectivity
This is the ideal role if you are a keen, passionate and technically competent individual who wants to break into a company working at the forefront of technological developments where innovative solutions are frequently required within a short time frame. You will have the opportunity to deploy and use new/prototype technological products ahead of general customer availability.
You must have:
• Experience of Linux administration and/or administration of BSD
• Experience of IP networking and routing, VLAN’s
• Experience of Windows clients and servers
• A’s and B’s at A levels
• 2:1 degree in relevant subject from a leading university
Also the successful candidate will have a working knowledge of relevant networking technologies / Linux systems administration or alternatively you may have an extensive hobbyist interest and have your own network at home and some programming ability. Knowledge of scripting (Perl, PHP) and VPNs is desirable.
