Intapeople are working closely with a well known, exciting company in Cardiff who is urgently seeking a SQL Server DBA for a newly created position.
They are looking to supplement the skills in the team with an Operations DBA to provide support for the increasing SQL estate across the Group.
You will be responsible for the support of the SQL production, test and development databases, ensuring integrity and availability through monitoring, capacity planning, archiving and the scheduling of preventative maintenance. In addition, you will support releases through all the environments. You will be responsible for taking the technical lead on operational issues and for providing training and support to colleagues on an on–going basis. Any and all user requests must be dealt with in a professional manner and in-line with current SLA’s.
Any experience within a mainframe environment would be an advantage but otherwise training can be given.
They predominantly use SQL 2000/2005 at the moment but are migrating to SQL 2008 R2 before too long.
