For one of our projects in London (Canary Wharf, Docklands) we are currently looking for a Senior Java Developer
Purpose
The purpose of this work is to:
• Develop in Java the business layer and the persistence layer for the project
• Developing the SQL schema for the new system
• Develop code for the migration either in Java, SQL scripts or PL/SQL
• Develop XML schemas, maintain XML files
• Have the curiosity and confidence to author independently the User Interface which is developed in Flex and Action Script.
Description
The work required therefore comprises:
• Prototyping.
• Write/maintain and test programs which reflect the specifications based on the requirements.
• Optimise programs.
• Produce the relevant technical documentation.
• Participating in meetings with the users.
This opportunity is for a large system implementing wide requirements and business rules in the scientific area. Therefore, previous experience in large, complex systems using the mentioned technologies is required.
Deep knowledge of Java / Hibernate / Spring / JEE is mandatory with a minimum of 2 years corporate experience of the above mentioned technologies. Experience with Adobe Flex will be advantageous.
Required Software Expertise:
• You have at least 5 years relevant IT experience.
• Extensive experience in Java/J2EE Development: Spring, Hibernate, EJB, JavaScript, Adobe Flex / Action Scripts.
• Extensive experience in Oracle 10g DBMS development, XML, HTML, SQL, JDBC, OOAD, XSL, UML, CVS.
• Very good English communicative skills (written and spoken)
