DBA/Systems Administrator

Intapeople has a requirement for a DBA/Systems Administrator for a dynamic and rapidly expanding company in the North West, The successful applicant will join a team of two DBA/Sys Admins within an IT team of 15 . Experience of MySQL Administration and Linux is a must, experience of Oracle is desirable. The ability to write scripts for server administration would be useful as would a knowledge of Perl and PHP. The ability to configure Apache and Jboss are a bonus
The successful applicant will be heavily involved in shaping the server infrastructure that powers the website as the company and demand grows. Currently they run 16+ servers each with a database and an application server. The challenge is to configure the servers depending on load to perform well and deliver a service to customers. At the same time server maintenance and day to day administration tasks need to be performed to keep the machines running without disrupting the service.
This is a progressive role where further growth within the organisation is encouraged.
