This is an opportunity to build a department from scratch and implement processes and procedures. The platforms have yet to be built so you will be responsible for a Greenfield project and determining the strategic direction.
My client is looking to recruit an IT all professional with all round experience who comes from a hands on development background with a proven track record of development, management and technology.
The successful Technical IT Director will understand .NET, Java and or PHP technologies but have an expertise in at least 1 of them. They will have had experience of managing a small development team both onshore and offshore as well as full lifecycle development experience themselves.
The client is a new market entrant and is developing a web based e-commerce site so experience of either building or managing the build of secure web applications will be favourable. The successful Technical Director will be able to guide and provide strategic advice to Senior Management and the Board, will communicate at a high level and be a strong decision maker.
As this company grows the successful Technical Director will be able to help with growth of the development team, understand the challenges faced by developers and ultimately grow into a CTO.
Knowledge of database design, Unix and Linux servers/OS would be seen as a added bonus as would dealing with suppliers, setting SLA’s and, Procurement.
It would be desirable to have knowledge in networking, telecoms and storage.
