General Manager – Telecoms East Africa
We are seeking to appoint a General Manager for a major Mobile Telecom Operator to work in a Country Operation based in East Africa. The role will be a Greenfield site and therefore experience in setting up telco operations from scratch is important.
This opportunity will challenge the successful General Manager and test their abilities as the Geo-Political and Demographical climate in the country is sensitive – the successful General Manager will be charged with setting up all departments, defining policies and procedures and then implementing and managing them. They will work closely with the CTO to establish network integrity and with the CFO to undertake all recruitment activities.
The successful General Manager will be a strong communicator and have an assertive and direct business approach with little compromise.
A long history with Mobile GSM operators is essential as is fluent English and French language skills. We are looking for General Managers with an established proven track record within Blue Chip Telecom operators. The General Manager MUST have African market experience and knowledge of working at an operation level. Previous experience of setting up mobile telecom operations would be seen as an advantage as would experience from working /living in France.
