GIS Technical Consultant
£35,000 - £40,000 + Pension + Bonus

Intapeople have an urgent requirement for a GIS Technical Consultant to join a well established forward thinking company based in Herefordshire. Geographical Information Strategy consultants work as part of the Technical Services team, designing, creating, customising and implementing GIS applications.
You will work closely with the Professional Services team to ensure tangible and effective results for clients. The office is based in Herefordshire but the clients are often in London or the South East so a location someway between the two might be ideal. You will spend some time at client sites and travel/hotel costs will be reimbursed. It would be highly beneficial if you happen to have current CV or SC level clearance for this (or be willing to undergo high level clearance) as many clients are within the defense sector.
You will typically be involved in producing and maintaining code to agreed guidelines, Implementation of, and support to, software at customer sites, Developing and maintaining spatial data stores to support the customer’s requirements and the planning and co-ordination of GIS solution deployments (Software deliveries, upgrades etc).
The skills mix for this one is:
A sound knowledge of geographic principles
ArcObjects development v9.x.
.NET language preferably C# or VB
ArcGIS Server Technologies (ArcSDE, ArcIMS & ArcGIS Server)
ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Desktop implementation
Oracle/MS SQL Server
Understanding of Object Oriented Design techniques
Project Management
Ability to work in a team environment
This role is based in the companies Herefordshire office but there is a requirement to travel within the UK so drivers license and own car is essential.
Should be ideally placed if you live in Herefordshire, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol, Swindon, Reading or anywhere along the M4 corridor.
